My name is Tristan Cline and I was born and raised in Napa, CA. In 1988, my life changed for the better when I was four years old and my parents bought me the original Nintendo Entertainment System for Christmas. What followed was years of 8-bit joy, followed by 64-bit amazement when I purchased my first console on my own, the Nintendo 64. Don’t worry SNES lovers, I got one of those later on too. During my college years, I bought the original Xbox and Xbox 360, but then the real world sucked me in. I started my career as a law enforcement officer, married my beautiful wife Courtney, and before I knew it I had three wonderful children. In 2017, I was seriously injured in the line of duty and in 2019, my police career came to a close with a honorable, early retirement. While I never lost my passion for gaming, I did sell off most of my collection after college. With encouragement from my kiddos, I have begun to build up a modest collection of video games on the retro consoles. When did they become retro? Does that make me retro? Anyway, I thank you for joining me on this journey of rediscovering my passion, sharing it with my kids, and hopefully some of you!
